Trevor stood in his living room, staring at the tragedy before him. His legendary karaoke microphone was in Pieces. With the weekend arriving and a fresh batch of new songs added on SingSnap, he had no choice - he was Going Shopping.
He was especially panicked because today was the Friday Duet Challenge, and he had his heart set on recording a track with a partner. He looked down at his broken equipment, cradling it gently. "I have Potential," he whispered to it, "I just Need Your Love." But the mic remained silent.
Trevor set it down, resolved. He burst out of his house just as the Sun Comes Up Tremendous, squinting into the morning light, and jumped into his car. He drove to the electronics store, his heart pounding with anxiety. "If I can't find a replacement in time for the challenge," he muttered to himself, "I might as well just Drop Dead."
He sprinted into the store and came to a sudden halt in front of the premium display glass. There it was. The Titan-2000 Pro Microphone. As he stared at it, he saw the Eyes Of A Stranger reflecting back at him—actually, it was just a very intense security guard watching him closely.
Trevor checked the price tag and gasped. It was so expensive his wallet was about to take One Last Breath.
The salesman walked over, sensing his hesitation. "Ah, looking at the Titan? It has a beautiful, smooth Tenderness to its lower frequencies."
"Forget tenderness," Trevor countered, his eyes wide. "Does it have Beauty and a Beat? Because that is the exact song I need to record for the Friday Duet Challenge! I am usually a Mr Know It All when it comes to the SingSnap stage, but lately, every time I hit a high note, it sounded like a pack of wild Sharks fighting an army of angry cats. It sent literal shivers down the Bodies of my fans! I can't subject my duet partner to that!"
The salesman smiled and unlocked the case. "Trust me, sir. This one is flawless."
Trevor took the microphone package, feeling the perfect weight of it in his hands. He looked at the salesman with pure relief and declared, "This is it. This will Save The Day!"
He opened the box slowly and a golden glow lit up his face as if the mic itself was saying, "Yes... put your Hands On Me."
The salesman slowly backed away, but Trevor didn't care. He had the prize. The new SingSnap tracks were ready, his gold mic was secured, and he was officially ready to crush the Friday Duet Challenge!
