Most Memorable Jingles cover

Which Jingles Get You Hummin'?

You have all experienced the sensation of turning on the television and flipping through the channels, only to catch a few notes of a commercial that brings back warm fuzzy feelings of nostalgia. Those feelings are what dreams are made of for advertising guru's. Love them or hate them, jingles are a part of our culture and have been around since the mid 1920's!

The first jingle was broadcast on the radio on Christmas Day in 1926 and was centered around Wheaties cereal. Since then, they have influenced the spending habits of people around the world. Today we're going to take a look at some of the most popular jingles of all time!

McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It"

The companies longest running marketing campaign is one of the most popular jingles in modern history. It was created in 2001 when a German Ad agency came up with the phrase. Butch Stewart, a legendary jingle writer, transformed the phrase into a melody and the rest is history. Justin Timberlake even had a hit with it after McDonald's paid him $6 million dollars to perform the song.

Kit Katยฎ "Give Me a Break"

In 1986 Ken Shuldman, a junior copywriter penned the catchy tune that would go on to become one of the most recognized jingles in history. In 2016, KitKat modernized their hit by getting Chicago native, Chance the Rapper, to bring fresh life to the familiar melody by dressing up as a giant teddy bear! Needless to say, we think that's pawesome.

Oscar Mayer "I Wish I Was an Oscar Mayer Wiener"

The song was originally composed in 1965 by Richard Trentlage in Chicago and went on to take the world by storm. Everyone wanted a chance to sing this popular ditty including; a heavy metal band, barbershop quartet, ukulele player, and even a singing parrot! You haven't lived if you haven't wished to be a wiener!

Lucky Charms "They're Magically Delicious"

This catchy commercial jingle has been hitting the airwaves since 1963. It was performed by Arthur Anderson who was also the voice of Lucky the Leprechaun. He served as the spokesperson for the cereal for nearly 30 years until 1992. I don't know about you guys but I sure loved those marshmallows and they were certainly magically delicious!

Huggies "I'm a Big Kid Now"

Everyone wanted to be a big kid! This snappy jingle rose to fame in the 90's and helped Huggies become one of the highest selling diaper duty companies in the world. The song was definitely fun but the icing on the cake was the children singing the tune in their little bundle of adorableness. Modern Huggie commercials have changed over the years but still hit all the feels.

Now that we've taken a stroll down memory lane, it's time for YOU to share your favorite jingles below! Do you have any favorites from yesteryear or are you more in tune with the new ones released in recent years? We'd love to hear all about your favs and reminisce together!
