Iconic Duets! cover

The Magical Blend Of Two Voices!

Since it's conception, SingSnap has focused on providing a fun, safe, kind and encouraging environment for its members. One of the most magical side effects of that was creating a community where people felt comfortable in sharing the deepest parts of themselves which led to creating incredible, lifelong bonds. Part of the secret sauce is not only bonding over music but over the ability to share and create music together, which has resulted in innumerable dazzling duet collaborations.

Duets are a big part of the SingSnap life, so we're going to take a look back at Music History and share what we consider to be some of the most memorable duets of all time! You may even find a few SingSnap renditions highlighted!

I Got You Babe By Sonny and Cher

Whether you love it or hate it, chances are you know it and can't resist hummin' along. Released just one month after (and as a response to) Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe", this smash duet hit Number One in the summer of 1965. This was the first of many chart topping collabs for the pair who ended up hosting their own variety show!

Islands in the Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton

Written by the BeeGees, this classic country duet was hand delivered to two huge stars who went on to make it a master hit that is still performed by music fans across the globe. The BeeGee's didn't feel it suited their musical style and in the end, the royalties definitely paid off!

Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell

Penned in 1966 by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, this song felt like something special. So special they declined an offer from Dusty Springfield to record it because they wanted to break into the world of Motown. Their instinct proved to be correct as Gaye and Terrell proved to be the perfect pair to propel this duet into legendary status!

Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee

Elton John, along with Bernie Taupin wrote this killer collab in the late 1970's and invited English Pop singer Kiki to be a part of music history. It is a fun, whimsical song that is next to impossible not to sing along with!

Leather & Lace by Stevie Nicks & Don Henley

This song was almost guaranteed success when you combined both husky-voiced vocalists Nicks and Henley with the catchy, singsongy melody. The two truly told a story on and off the stage which led to this being one of the most memorable duets in history!
