No matter who you are or what you do, I'm sure we can all agree on one thing - life can get pretty crazy. Especially during these holiday months, it can be easy to become overwhelmed with work, school, or anything else that you have going on! We can't stress enough how important it is to take some time out of your day or your week for self care. And that's why we've put together a list of 10 fun, relaxing self care ideas to help you destress!

1. Read a Book or a Magazine

As awesome as social media and today's technology is, nothing beats taking some time to unplug and read. Even taking as little as 30 minutes every day to cozy up and read your favorite book can make a huge impact on your stress levels!

2. Have an at Home Spa Day

Whether you live by yourself or with others, planning an at home spa day is always a good idea to distract yourself from day to day responsibilities. Put on your favorite music, treat yourself to a warm cup of tea or hot cocoa, and bring out the face masks!

3. Explore the Outdoors

Self care doesn't have to mean staying inside. Getting some fresh air into your system is a great way to help you relax - if it's cold outside, bundle up and go on a winter adventure to your favorite trail or park! If you have furry friends, they'll be sure to enjoy this too.

6. Exercise

Getting that heart rate up might not be everyone's ideal form of self care, but it is another proven way to boost your mood. Whether it's visiting the gym or taking your dog for a walk around your neighbourhood, exercising is rewarding in more ways than one! It's also always a great idea to blast your favorite songs to help you get motivated.

7. Have a Movie Marathon

Contrary to the previous self care idea, this one involves a whole lot of nothing! Movie marathons are especially great during the winter months, when you might have a few family members visiting or are snowed inside. Grab your favorite snacks, get that popcorn poppin', and spend your day or evening snuggled up in bed or on the couch!

8. Dance it Out

We're (obviously) big advocates for singing, but dancing is just as fun. Because it's technically a form of exercise too, getting groovy to your favorite tracks is sure to boost your mood! Dance like nobody's watching and be as silly as you want - it'll help with your stress levels, we promise.

9. Create a Bucket List

Are there things you've always wanted to do? With a brand new year just a couple of months away, creating a bucket list is always so much fun. Collaborate with a friend for a list of items you'd like to do together, or write one solo! While creating a bucket list, we encourage you to get crafty and do something more exciting than simply typing it out on your computer. 10. Make Playlists
