A one-hit wonder is any band that achieves mainstream popularity for only one piece of work. That sole piece of music defines their career. We're going to take a look at our Fav Five One Hit wonders. We'll even toss in some SingSnap renditions for your listening pleasure!
5. The Tokens - 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'
The song was originally released in 1961 but is largely associated with the Disney movie, The Lion King. While The Tokens had other songs, the one they are remembered for is this sleepy, yet fun hit.

4. The Knack – ‘My Sharona'
The Knack appeared on stage in 1979 and looked to be a promising Rock band with their killer debut and smash hit 'My Sharona'. However, their success was halted by a poor release with their second album and the band splitting up in 1981. They did come back together but their momentum was lost and so was their chance at super stardom!

3. A-ha – ‘Take on Me’
While A-ha had impressive success in Norway and other European countries, they only had a brief moment of mainstream popularity world-wide but man, it was a great moment. Their nifty animated video will live-on forever with fans, as will the insanely high pitched vocals.

2. The Champs - 'Tequila'
This hit literally has three words and they're all 'Tequila'. Yet, everyone knows it and sings along! The song is easy to learn and impossible to forget!

1. Chumbawamba – ‘Tubthumping'
Chumbawamba was formed in England in the early 80's and was known for a variety of music including political songs, folk, punk and dance hits. However, it wasn't until 1997 that they achieved mainstream success with their silly, repetitive and uber catchy hit Tubthumping. It just goes to show, not everything has to be intelligent to be entertaining. The catchy beat and lyrics made this a huge hit!
