Music has always been here for us, through all of our ups and downs; but its also brought us together and helped us bond with family members and even new friends! Today, we wanted to share a few heartwarming stories from around the world about how music has positively impacted others.

Have you heard of "Music Therapy"?

In 2011, Senator Gabrielle Gliffords survived a brutal accident, which had left her brutally injured and unable to speak. This is where music therapy came in; a discipline which professionals practice to support the development of a patient's cognitive, emotional, social and even physical needs. Although Senator Gliffords wasn't able to speak at first, the power of music aided her in taking her very first steps towards recovery by helping her sing! Through her singing, she was able to gradually regain her ability to communicate. Source: Sonic Bids

Musical Empowerment

On a softer note, we're confident that Buzzfeed's Becca is not alone in feeling empowered after listening to certain albums and songs. Music has a way of making us feel something; whether it's anger, vulnerability, or positive emotions such as happiness and empowerment! Becca shares that every time she was forced to do something out of her comfort zone like a job interview or a first date, she would listen to her favorite album beforehand to prepare and to remind herself that she's got this! Self-Confidence: Shout out to you, music!

In an interview conducted by Education Through Music Los Angeles, a music teacher tells the story of a shy little boy who was able to come out of his shell with the help of music. The teacher always saw potential in Justin, the young boy, because when she called on him in class to answer a question he always knew the answer and in his private keyboard lessons he always arrived excited to learn! It was with the help of his love for music that Justin, who barely spoke in class or in his private lessons, became confident enough to participate in his school play as one of the main characters.

In conclusion, it's clear that music can have a positive impact on people of all ages worldwide. It's our love for music that has the power to heal us and to bring us all together no matter what our backgrounds or stories are!
