🎶 SingSnap is What You Make It
This is something I've always said: SingSnap is what you make it.
If you log in, hit record, let out some emotion, and log off - that's great! SingSnap is a fantastic personal outlet for stress and emotion. But if you're looking for comments, feedback, and genuine connections, it takes more than just singing a song and logging out.
There are thousands of amazing people on here singing every day - you need to make yourself visible some people will click on your recording. Recording on video definitely helps, but building a real presence takes a bit more active effort. Here are a few ways to turn your experience around:
1. Get Your Name Out There
If you've been shy or had a bad experience in the past - give it another shot! Try something new. Join a contest, take on a challenge, or hang out in the chat room. The more people see your name popping up around the site, the more chances they'll have to click on your profile and listen to your songs. The key to SingSnap are the connections you make.
2. Connect Gracefully & Genuinely
When you comment on a song, you have the ability to change someone's day. It's about more than just drive-by, copy-and-paste comments. Take a moment to actually listen and connect with people. Real comments lead to real relationships.
3. Focus on Others Instead of Just Yourself
We live in a society that is a lot about "me, me, me." Let's work together to bring a supportive, community-first mentality back to our little corner of the internet.
- Instead of showcasing your own recordings - showcase someone else.
- Instead of practicing a song for two full hours tonight - take 30 minutes of that time to listen and comment on your friends' recordings.
