Tell us why you chose that artist.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgba(38, 38, 40, 0.9);">I'm not one for favourite artists, I'm more into individual songs, but Volbeat is a bit of an exception, along with Within Temptation - I had hoped to sing Angels by them but even down 5 steps, I still couldn't hit her top notes 🤪 If you haven't heard it, do check it out.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgba(38, 38, 40, 0.9);">Anyway, I digress! Volbeat have been around since 2001 and are a Danish rock band. Me and my husband discovered them while listening to the Metal Mix playlist on Spotify and really liked what we heard. The first song I heard was their cover of Dusty Springfield's Only Want To Be With You which was bloody brilliant! And then we listened to them a lot more and more and now they're one of my faves. There's not many songs of theirs to choose from on here so i'd narrowed it down to 2. Still Counting (first line "Counting all the a**holes in the room" - they have such a way with words!) and this one. I felt I could pull this off more than the other one 😂 I think Volbeat's variety of soft rock, punkish, soft metal and sometimes cheesy rock attracted me to them.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgba(38, 38, 40, 0.9);">I adore rock but tend to shy away from it as my voice doesn't really suit it, but I decided not to avoid it in this final round. I mean, it's not like I can get booted out now so why not? 😁</span></p>
