So, round one is a song that brings back happy memories.

When I was between 3 and 4, my parents gave me a record player for Christmas along with a few records. Many were children's classic songs but one stood out. It was a compilation of Bing Crosby's most famous songs. For some reason, pre-school me saw something in the songs or the singer himself that touched me, and I played it over and over. I remember sitting in my child size lounge chair with Roy Rodgers on the back of it, and listening to Crosby's songs for long periods of time. "Swinging on a Star" was my favorite. After hearing it a few times I started to sing along. My mom heard it, too, and it became a song she would sing around the house when she was doing housework.

My mom's singing at home when she would work was a source of connection between us and a beloved part of my childhood.

I think that is what led me to love music and to keep it a part of my life.
