<p>I'm a little hoarse today (nothing new there!) and I thought that singing a Tom Waits song would be a good move....not just because his style is a bit gruff, but also because I find his songs very powerful.</p><p><br></p><p>This one isn't a pop song with a soaring melody or a catchy chorus, it just tells a story with minimal background instrumentation. The scene he paints here is something I remember well from my younger, single nights in boozy nightclubs and bars. I absolutely love how his story ends.
