<p><img src="https://singsnap-cdn.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com/message-board/threads/XAEU/e2d0487618_MDPK_media.jpg"></p><p><br></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(251, 251, 251); color: rgb(78, 78, 78);">Suggested title for follow-up recording: </span><em>He’s Giving Back The Whole World &amp; Washing It Off His Hands (After Seeing What A Mess It Has Become)</em></p><p><br></p><p><em>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</em></p><p><strong>"He's Got the Whole World in His Hands"</strong> is a traditional African-American spiritual, first published in 1927.&nbsp;It became an international pop hit in 1957–58 in a recording by British singer Laurie London, which is one of the best-selling gospel songs of all time.&nbsp;His recording reached #12 in UK and #1 on Billboard's <em>"Most Played by Jockeys"</em> chart, thereby becoming the first record by a British-born artist to top the charts in the rock and roll era.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Laurie London never achieved another hit in either the US or UK.&nbsp;His subsequent recordings went unnoticed.&nbsp;He subsequently retired from the recording business at the age of 19 and worked in property and later ran a hotel until 2000.
