Dan asked me if I had any ideas of what we could work on for our next duet. I had never heard this as a duet, but I was really happy to see that someone made it into a duet. My daughter introduced me to Lauren Daigle and to this song. I fell in love with it! I think Dan has, too.

Lauren is a contemporary Christian singer/songwriter who is breaking all kinds of records and winning many awards on the Christian charts, but this particular song is a crossover song. It broke the record for the number of weeks at No. 1 on ANY chart by spending 129 weeks at the top of Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart.

Many people sing this song as a love song where the singer is admiring a friend or loved one for always being encouraging when she is feeling down and feeling that she doesn't matter in life. We all know people who make us feel better about ourselves. Lauren's story is a praise to Jesus for giving her worth and identity.

I thought it was important to tell Lauren's motivation in singing this song. Dan and I are singing it for Jesus because He gives us both purpose, worth and identity. If you feel you have no one in your life who makes you feel that way, try talking to Jesus. Just talk to Him the way you would a dear friend....He wants to be that for you and so much more.

Thank you, Dan, for your great setup and interpretation of this touching song. I love singing with you!
