<p><br></p><p>I return all listens/comments/love-it hearts!</p><p><br></p><p>This song is, of course, a political metaphor....."Suite Madame Blue" is not about a flesh-and-blood woman, but about America. Released in 1975, the concept behind it was that, as the U.S.A. approached its 200th birthday, rather than it being an exciting and joyous occasion, the country was mired with a considerable measure of malaise in the aftermath of Watergate and the Vietnam War. But oh, the irony.....now we may look back and see the 1970s as the good old days, in light of the terrible turn that this country has now taken.....we really didn't appreciate it when we were well of!!
