It was released as a single in the US in February 1971. </span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">This is probably my favourite George Harrison song of all time (including his Beatle compositions). I have always considered it a love song rather than something with spiritual or religious undertones. On another note, I'll never understand why it just gets written off as a simple pop song. For instance, it was not played at the concert for Bangladesh or the concert for George. I can understand their reasoning with Bangladesh, but What is Life definitely should have been acknowledged in the latter show. It's a beautiful song and a true testament of George's song writing and analytical perception.</span></p>
