<p><strong>“Past the point of rescue” </strong>is a song written by the Irish songwriter Mick Henly and recorded by the American musician Hal Ketchum 1992.</p><p><br></p><p>The song was based on the breakup of Henly’s first marriage and own observations of his life.</p><p><br></p><p>There are some cover versions but Hal’s was the most successful.</p><p><br></p><p>Ketchum retired from the music business in 2019 following a diagnosis of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dementia" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: windowtext;">dementia</a> and died in Nov 2020.</p><p><br></p><p>Long outro …</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
