It was recorded in 1985 by Roy Orbison singing with Larry and the Gatlin Brothers and Barry Gibb.</p><p><br></p><p>ETA: I don’t remember hearing this song when it came out in the mid-80’s. I stumbled upon it when I was searching for a “summer” related song to sing for this contest a few days ago. Since then, I’ve become obsessed watching the You Tube videos of Roy Orbison, Barry Gibb and The Gatlin Brothers rehearsing and recording this song. All incredibly talented musicians and vocalists blending these incredible harmonies and they seem to be having such fun doing it! Hats off to those West Texas boys. 🤠 ( Roy Orbison and The Gatlins are from West Texas. I had a West Texas oilfield Grandpa.) I could never do justice to their original version of the song, but had a lot of fun paying my humble tribute to their masterpiece. 😀</p>
