I met my husband at the end of January 2001. It was love at first sight. But he lived 50 miles away from me and we both did not like to drive. I had worked to factory for 12 years raising my two kids. He told me he would make it but I never have to work another day in my life. It was a great line and I was getting a little tired of that factory. So I took him up on the deal. In May of that year we took a bus trip to Milwaukee and we got to see a lot of country stars. One of them was Sara Evans and I think she's saying this song. Then in July, on the 13th, we should in the entryway of our home and said our vows. I can still remember my parents sitting in the living room. My daughter had brought two of her friends and my son was living with us at the time. Donnie's daughter brought her to a little girls and his other daughter was there. Donnie's childhood friend and his wife stood up with us. It was a little warm that day but it was a beautiful day. How things have changed. His friend's wife died in 2015. Then his friend passed away in 2017. At the end of 2023 Donnie didn't feel right, they had to rule out having pneumonia before they considered lung cancer. But by the time the pneumonia was ruled out the lung cancer had taken over. He ended up having fluid around his heart. After they drained it off he was much better. But it came back and apparently they don't drain it off again. He passed away 13 weeks after the cancer was found. 13 days before he died he was able to be with some of his old friends from Buffalo. Needless to say, I miss him.
