Sing first, notifications after! šŸ™

Been recovering from a cold then hit with… the insanity of world events.

*sigh* I need a break from monitoring the news, or at least monitoring in ways that don’t demoralize me. To not feel helpless, we must do what we can, then, we must let go and step away. Just too damn cray. I rhymed, yayyy

This song perfectly fits in with the kind of energy (hold onto good, in times of bad) I’m trying to channel, so I upload this to sing.

When I got a little better cold-wise, my computer started acting up. Let me share the absolute ridiculousness of that. I’ve never had to take my PCs out for repairs as I grew up with many computer literate buddies. I’ve picked up a lot from them. It also helps that I like to, and am interested in how to fix things. I’m usually able to fix most typical computer problems.

One day I turn my PC on, while it ran perfectly, one of the internal fans sounded noisier than normal. So I shut PC down to take the fan out to clean. Once I cleaned the fan and put it back in, my PC decided it can no longer send a signal to my monitor. Over 4 days I’ve:

Power Cycled PC 10+ Times

Hard Shutdown PC 5+ Times

Tried switching different DP & HDMI Cables (ruled out cable failure)

Connected monitor to another device (ruled out monitor failure)

Reseated Rams 5+ Times

Reseated DP, Power, HDMI Cables 10+ Times

Reseated GPU 3x

Reset My Mobo 3x (pulling out its battery)

Nothing worked. I waited 4 days before taking PC to a repair shop because ZedArkadia had the same issue before. He left it alone and the next day (along with a couple of steps listed above) it worked again. So I waited 4 days, testing every day, twice a day. By day 4, I accepted defeat and took my PC to a repair shop.

On my way there, wheeling a 35-40 lbs gaming PC on a hand truck where its base is not quite wide enough, the PC slips and falls onto the sidewalk. 😭

*sigh* Luckily by then, I was right outside of the shop. I get into the shop and joke with the repair guy about my butter fingers and how I may have extra PC problems (from the fall).

Repair guy plugs in my PC and immediately, there is a signal for the monitor! I laughed as expletives naturally burst out of me. My instant reaction was ā€œthis motherfuckerā€¦ā€ (gesturing to PC) which also made the repair guy laugh. I joked about how dropping the PC fixed it, he agreed. After checking my PC for about 20-30 mins. Zero issues found.

When he was done, he REFUSED to take payment! He said he didn’t do anything to which I protested, as he still used his time to check for other possible errors. He insisted and told me to just come in if I ever have future issues. Next time I’m around that neighborhood, I must buy this dude something fun to eat and drink. I always randomly meet the coolest, kindest people.

That same day I made eye contact with a very cute dog on the street. As soon as the doggie saw me smile, he ran up to me. He was so excited and sweet that I had to tell him ā€œI LOVE YOU TOO!ā€ he seemed to understand and was happy. That interaction made me so happy. ā¤ļø

I was feeling really down with what’s happening in the world. I forget the toxic ideology of the few, is not representative of most. I’ve always believed by and large, people are good. We are so much more similar than we are different. I think the universe brings me what I need to remember all the good, when I need it most. If anyone’s feeling down like I was, I hope you see those little things around you, that are good too, even when things are shitty. Especially then.

I’ve also learned that when in doubt, just drop kick your computer. Next time my PC gives me problems, after trying all logical solutions, I’m just gonna beat it up. I BEAT THE PC UP UP UP!!! (reference to a hilarious rap song entitled ā€œI beat the p*ssy up,ā€ seriously look up the lyrics)

Oh yeah, since dropping it, PC consistently runs an average of 5-7 degrees cooler too lol wtf šŸ˜†
