This song always brings me back to a sad but favorite Christmas memory. It was quite a few years ago when shopping for my wife's present I stopped in a mall jewelry store. I noticed an elderly man staring at some watches in a case and he had tears in his eyes. I walked over and wished him a Merry Christmas and asked him to tell me what was wrong. He pointed at watch with a very pretty blue dial and some jewel accents and told me his wife's favorite color was blue and how much she would love that watch. Sensing he couldn't afford it I offered to buy it for him. As tears welled from his eyes he proceeded to tell me how she passed away Christmas Eve the year before and how he would spend Christmas Day with her in the Church Cemetery. I purchased the watch and told him to leave it on her headstone when he visited her. He looked at me in such a way that it touched my very soul and asked if I would visit her with him on Christmas as he was going alone and wished for company. It was the very first Christmas I spent away from my family. It was a couple years later I was driving past the cemetery and I don't know what made me stop but I went to the grave and His death date was added to the headstone. On top of the headstone was a blue faced watch, I tried to pick it up to look at it but was either glued or cemented to the headstone. After the watch it was inscribed on top of the headstone "given to me by an Angel for my Angel"

God Bless and Merry Christmas

Johnny Williams
