It exposed the evils of hard drugs</p><p>like heroin and cocaine! It is a strong anti-drug song, using the phrase "God... Damn the Pusher"....Axton is known for songs he has written, like: "I've never been to Spain; and the huge Three Dog Night hit "Joy to the World".</p><p><span style="color: rgb(32, 33, 34);">Axton recalled how he discovered, many years after "The Pusher" had been a hit, that the song had never been published.
