Another cool tune from Joni Mitchell. This one is not a familiar one to me, but seems a good fit as we enter our summer fun time of year.

I am adding this note I wrote on 8/1/2021. Though the song is referencing 4th of July, its Memorial Day, and this is my salute to Jak. Hugs and love , forever :)

Today I lost my sweetheart, my love, my partner, my forever friend, explorer of worlds, the cosmos. She was my inspiration to always get smarter, we shared thousands of new things because we thought, looked, and shared. We spent so much time trying to overcome everything thrown at us so that we could stand on the same soil but only had a short time of success in that goal. Jak is one of the smartest people I ever met. She was fiery, funny, talented. She spoke 4 languages and was learning another. She was a lifelong singer and had so much fun performing. She cared about the real things. This roadblock was just simply too much for her to overcome. Something we shared often was making someone's day better. We didn't have to know them. For anyone reading this, whether you knew her a little or a lot, please give that gift to someone, anyone. Whether you know them of not. buy them a coffee, or a sandwich, tell them how well they look, maybe its sharing a helpful tidbit to make a task easier. And as you go through the days be very conscious of each one because as in Jak's case, they are not unlimited. Something she said a lot holds true. " no one is guaranteed a tomorrow" Jak and I shared around 175 million seconds together. packed with emotion, trials, celebrations, and trouble, they weren't all joyous. But they were all PRICELESS.
