I'M READY TO DUET!

Julie set this emotionally touching duet up perfectly and kindly suggested I sing it with her for the duet challenge. Must admit it was like singing with Barbara herself! Julie as been a Singnap and Facebook friend for quite a while and has a wonderful voice and a very caring nature, with a happy go lucky sweet personality to match.. It's always an honour to sing with her.

A song by Neil Diamond and lan and Maryilin Bergman as a theme song for an ill fated TV series.

The story behind the duet is an interesting one... Originally perfomed and recorded as solo performances by Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond, the idea for the duet was created by an AM radio WAKY program director Gary Guthrie who spliced the two solo tracks together as a going away gift to his wife soon to be divorced. Another version was created in much the same way using two records in one take on the Roy Leonard show..

The two singers then decided to release an official version with Columbia records in October 1978 which eventually went to Platinum. . Guthrie later sued CBS for being unfairly compensated and settled with CBS out of court.. rumoured to be in the order of $5 mill.
