Golden.&nbsp;</strong>He was also the first one to record it on April 18, 1928. The hymn was set to the tune of&nbsp;<strong><em>“To Canaan’s Land I’m on My Way”</em></strong>&nbsp;which also serves as its opening line.&nbsp;Very little is known about Golden, except that he was born in Mississippi in 1878 and wrote several songs while serving an eight-year sentence in a state penitentiary, the circumstances of which are unknown.&nbsp;Another song he wrote which has become a gospel standard is “A Beautiful Life”.</p><p><br></p><p>The backing track is from my CS.
