I went to see it when it first came out but I was working early, early mornings, and I fell asleep, not because I wasn't enjoying the movie but because I'd been up for hours and I was in a dark theater and the movie's visuals are a bit dark. I've seen bits and pieces since then, but never the whole thing at a stretch. And I really like Tim Burton movies, too!
This is so very pretty and haunting. I'm hitting play again, now!

I just went to see my youngest son perform at Manhattan College in a Musical Review titled "The Nightmare Before Halloween".. their take on songs from this Tim Burton's Christmas classic, of course......it was very entertaining... Anyway.. This character Sally, suits you well.. we already knew u had a wooden leg... now we can add other detachable limbs stuffed with leaves! How grand!! ;-)

"Sally is a fictional character in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, and is the main female protagonist of the film.
Sally is a rag doll-type character, with detachable limbs stuffed with fall leaves. She was created by Doctor Finklestein, Halloween Town's resident mad scientist. Their relationship is rather tense, as Finklestein insists on keeping Sally under lock and key, under the pretext of protecting her from the excitement of the outside world. However Sally is restless, and is intrigued by the wonders of the outside world. ...
In the movie Sally sings a beautiful song about her unease about what Jack is doing and also her feelings for Jack himself. Simply called "Sally's Song". This song has been covered by Fiona Apple, and Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee.

At the end of the film, once Jack has defeated Oogie Boogie, Santa tells Jack that Sally is "the only one who makes any sense around this insane asylum".
