"So, we'll go no more a roving" ......... is a poem, written by (George
Gordon) Lord Byron (1788–1824), and included in a letter to Thomas
Moore on February 28, 1817. Moore published the poem in 1830 as part
of Letters and Journals of Lord Byron.
It evocatively describes the fatigue of age conquering the restlessness
of youth. Byron wrote the poem at the age of twenty-nine.
I remember Joan Baez's version on her 1964 Joan Baez / 5 album. Joan
was perhaps the greatest influence on my own singing.
Though the song is short, I don't think it detracts from it's beauty. This
arrangement is similar in guitar style to the way it was originally played
but I have taken the liberty of adding a haunting violin.
I hope you enjoy my version.

This is very lovely. It is like velvet; smoothe and soft. Your vocals, as always are perfect and beautiful.
The violin is a wonderful addition and I love the texture and beauty that it adds to this song.
Even though the song is short, the meaning is conveyed in very few words; it is profound. Amazing how it fits today. Timeless.
The time and care that you put into your recordings ends as a beautiful rapture enjoyed by the listener.
Thank you so much for sharing your music.
