Long ago and far away...I was to do this song at a fancy-shmancy resort area in Orlando, an early evening party outdoors, a Hawaiian themed party and told to dress in the theme. I found some fabric and came similar to ala Dorothy Lamour..she did the 'road show' movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby..I fabricated out of the fabric, a bandeau and a short sarong. I thought I looked good yet my self-confidence took even more of a beating when this other chick, another singer, shows up in this flowy more Greecian inspired one piece dress with a circle of green leaves around her head...like the islanders wear. Classy. Then there was ME! Looking like a shmuck-ong and if that weren't enough, my tape broke in the middle of my music. So to get me to even sing this song..maybe this is the 2nd time in many years..is a miracle! I still have that fabric somewhere and everytime I come across it, I think: That would be great on newly upolstered chairs! Very Florida room or lanai. Sigh..
