1st NBC Invitational - Final - Top Ten Country Hits

I haven't done this one in a long time so thought I'd murder it for the final lol.
Best of luck to the other 4 finalists, Debby, Jo-Anne, Linda & Manny xxx

Backing Recording

"Islands in the Stream" was a 1983 hit country music single for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, written by the Bee Gees. It was the first single from Rogers' album Eyes That See in the Dark and the second pop number-one for both Rogers and Parton (Rogers having been there with 1980's "Lady" and Parton with 1981's "9 to 5").
Its two weeks as Billboard Hot 100 number-one were preceded by "Total Eclipse of the Heart," performed by Bonnie Tyler, and followed by "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie. It also spent two weeks as the number one country song and in the year's final countdown was the number one song of the entire year of 1983.

In Australia, the song was number one for one week, becoming one of the highest charting singles for 1984.

In 2005, the song topped CMT's poll of the best country duets of all time; Parton and Rogers reunited to perform the song on the CMT special.

Proof of the song being #1 in the Country Billboard Chart in 1983

Talk about taking advantage of your ability to harmonise and large vocal range, not many could pull off a duet and sound this good. Great work Karen.

Your vocal range is extraordinary hunni!!..I already knew that though, but to hear you harmonizing with yourself here and sho off the lower and higher reaches of your vocals was amazing!!!
It just goes further to prove..Especially to anyone who has not heard the top and lower end of your voice, what a very talented singer you really are!!
Brilliant!!!
