heartsong7 please come home for christmas...a twist!Today was the day my wonderful Mom (who is now with the Lord) was born....October 17, 1925! I wanted to re-write a song in her memory. I thought to myself...other than God....what was her greatest love...the answer came quickly...Her husband, Emil Wolf and her family..my sister Vi (Pottershand) and myself.
So I wrote a song about the man she was devoted to all her life...My Dad...
We sang and travelled throughout the United States and Canada when we were growing up. We had NO home. Only a small travel trailer, with no running water or even washroom....but we had God! And to us....Daddy was .....
KING OF THE ROAD!!
Daddy was a preacher man
With his little family band….
No phone no pool no pets.
He just sang with his family quartet!
Ah, but..two hours of praisin’ God
Playing on his Gibson guitar!
He was a man of God by all means
King of the road.
