Thanks for sharing.. I guess because we went through a similar situation, that loss of a few songs doesn't bother me so much.
In Dec 2003 my son was hit by a 2 drunk drivers drag racing. My son was no way at fault, he was headed to work. 1.6 Million dollars spent out in medical, between his insurance and the state insurance. His insurance Maxed out at 1 million. He was in a coma for two months. The other drivers didn't have insurance and my son only had liability, my sons car and everything in the car was lost.. His toolbox became a permanently attached to the car. Glasses, Cd's, Kids Car seats, toys.. his leather coat, his tux he had to wear at work..
ETC.. My son survived but is disabled, because he had to be on a respirator for 2 month his lungs are damaged. It took him two years to recover enough for him to go back to his own home. People renting his house stuck him with 4 months rent. Some medical had to be paid out of our pockets also.. Not to mention my husband driving 200 miles per day to go back and forth to work, only to come down to PHX to sleep on the waiting room floor with me, because my son was so injured they couldn't tell us from minute to minute if he would survive..
So losing a few songs is a drop in an ocean compared to some of the losses we have already endured.
Yeah in a court of law he was awarded over a million dollars, and what he gets from the drunk, per month, can pay for his singsnap for that month with maybe 1 dollar left. Once the drunk drive gets thru with his jail sentence, he will be deported. Who will pay for the two months he lost and the time his 2 young children were deprived of..

You can check out his damaged car on the bottom of my profile page. We had to drive by it before making that 100 mile trip to Phx where he had to be airlifed.

As others have said, how very tragic. That poor family, especially the children. :( Life is too short to worry about the little things. This certainly does put worrying about "missing karaoke songs" into the "better things to worry about" catagory.

A most wonderful tribute to your neighbor. I did a couple songs for a good friend, killed in a motorcycle wreck a couple years ago, about this time. I wish I would have sung this one for his widow, instead... or along with the two I did.
