My name's Larry. I'm 67 years young, married, 3 boys, 2 girls who are now raising their families. Have nine grandkids and one great grandson. My wife won't sing with me, hence the name "lonesome" is derived.
I love the older, traditional country music, NOT todays pop and light rock that they try to pass off as "country". I do enjoy some blues and some bluegrass, but after 3 or 4 songs of either one, they start sounding alike. I can't stomach rap or rock or what they represent (drugs, sex, violence, etc).
SingSnap is a great website. It's difficult for me to get used to Karaoke because the singer follows the music and back-up singers whereas in a band, they followed me. Some of the karaoke is way out of my range but I miss pickin' 'n singin', so I go for it anyway. After all, it's all for the fun of singing and listening to others.
Everyone on this site is very nice, and I feel like it's a big family of friends. There is a lot of good talent on here but, forget the 'talent', ...the fun is in the singing because it's what we like to do, and not whether we think we're talented or not. Even the stars can't sing everybody's songs so if we're supposed to be good at every song, then I better pack away my microphone.
I wish to thank all of those who have left such very kind and encouraging comments on what I've done. I wish I had time to listen to everyone. I am guilty of listening and not leaving a lot of comments, but rest assured, when I do leave it, it is sincere.
