I have had so much fun singing on singsnap! However, I'm NOT a singer and I don't sing well...so have made most of them private. Don't want to kill the classics! Singing is so good for the soul! I grew up with a family of 7 older siblings, that all love music! Including my mama! For which I can attribute to my love for a variety of artists and genres of music! I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind and gracious comments! They are very much appreciated. Thank you all for sharing your beautiful voices!!! I love listening to you! And if I haven't heard you yet...don't worry I will! Oh btw...Sonrisa means smile in Spanish! : ) Please check out my sister "hazelnut1". And give her a big hearty welcome to SingSnap! She can really sing and I have been bugging her to get on here forever! Opps and my nephew "jpinslc"LOL PSS... I've been busy with my new Grandbaby! : ) I'll get a picture of her and I on here soon! She loves my singing! btw! If I haven't gotten back to you yet to thank you for all your nice comments or to listen to you yet...I'm on way... : )

About Me:
Well I'm a Scleroderma patient. And since you have probably now said; 'Sclero what?' Allow me to explain. The Challenges of Scleroderma... Scleroderma is a complex autoimmune disease. Like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis, it is a chronic often progressive disease in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. Scleroderma, which literally means 'hard skin,' can cause thickening and tightening of the skin, as well as serious damage to internal organs including the lungs, heart, kidneys, esophagus, and gastrointestinal tract. It is often life-threatening. Scleroderma occurs three to four times more often in women than in men. Which could be one of the reasons, there is so little known about the disease.

My sister, who also suffered from Scleroderma, died at the age of 59. She won her Disability claim only 6 months prior to her death. Which did not allow her the medical treatment she needed. She died of an "unrelated" brain tumor. Scleroderma has been a mystery to Dr.'s in the past. Often patients suffer and go undiagnosed, for many years. June is Scleroderma Awareness Month. Thank you for reading this!

With more awareness of this and many untreated and mis-understood diseases, we can find a cure!
Keep singing and keep smiling! : )

Update!

New Legislation for Autoimmune Disease Applauded
Newswise — Representative Patrick Kennedy (RI) introduced H.R. 7078, known as the Prevention, Awareness, and Research of Autoimmune Diseases Act of 2008, to Congress on September 25, 2008.

This bill would increase public awareness of and research on autoimmune diseases in order to help patients get diagnosed more quickly and receive proper treatment as soon as possible, as well as to improve the quality of life for those already suffering from autoimmune diseases.
