My name is Bonnie and I'm from sunny South Carolina, USA. Music has always been a part of my life. I grew up around it; my mother's family was very involved in music and very talented.
Mother could play any kind of instrument she ever tried to play however she mostly stuck with piano and guitar when we sang. My
dad's family loved music and a few would play around with it although most were not very talented when it came to music. Mother
had her three daughters (she had no sons), singing on the radio from the ages of 3, 6, and 9 years of age...on different minister's
broadcasts, all gospel of course. (My mother later became a minister.) My dad's father (my grandfather) was a minister and he took us around to
different churches in North and South Carolina with him to sing.
After I grew up and married, I sort of drifted from the church and my music. But after my children were born, I got back in church
and then I was singing again. A couple from my church and I started a trio and we were invited around to different churches in North
and South Carolina. We sang together several years but in my later years, I began having problems with my throat and was unable to
sing for a long time. After I came online, I started going around the music chatrooms and began missing my singing so much...I was
determined to sing again. After singing a little there my voice began to start coming back and sounding a little less hoarse and getting
a little stronger. Although it isn't what it used to be, it is what it is and I thank God for it, such as it is.
When I was invited to join SingSnap, I didn't know there was any such sites as karaoke sites. I love this site and thank God for it...I
think God opened up this way JUST FOR ME...lol...as a way to get me back to my singing and He is helping my voice to get stronger
song by song. I never really sang anything publicly except gospel until I came online and started singing a little country and oldies, too, and I love it....Hope God won't hold that against me and I don't think He will....But gospel is and always will be my favorite... I am just praying that He will help my voice to get back to where it once was and I think this site will help me a lot. Thank God for SingSnap and all these good people who encourage us and make us think we can sing. But there are some very good singers here. We can all sing and have fun at SingSnap and here there are no little i's and big u's; we're all the same. I really enjoy recording and listening to others as well.
