Ypsilass' Profile
Ypsilass' real name is Linda Pace. Linda is located in Michigan / USA and has been a SingSnap member since March 4, 2008. So far she has made a total of 127 recordings.
I'm Linda ...residing in Michigan and Georgia. My husband, Steve, is indeed a "Sweet-music-man". He is THE truly amazing man that I met right here on SingSnap. The chances that I would meet Steve were so remote that we both deeply understand that God had a hand in presenting the opportunity!!! The process began with "someone" (turns out to be Steve, Sweet_music_man) who listened to a song I recorded when I was in CA . I was focused on praying that my twin would survive total kidney failure, braving the task of administrating insulin to her cat and supporting my Dad, who was so worried that someone we loved so deeply might not make it. This "stranger" began supporting us in prayer and soon was sending recipes and shopping lists of foods to check out that she might be able to eat as she recovered. He had been through a similar illness. My soulmate became a prayer partner, a friend, and eventually the love of my life and my husband. I soon learned that we shared interests beyond SS... history, geneology, Ken Burns documentaries, Public TV...Garrison Keillor and Car Talk...old cars...the list goes on...and discovered that those who know him....even his family thinks he's a big guy with a bigger heart!!!!! I always told my girls to watch how a man treats his mother and family!! Finally, I took my own advice!!!! We're thankful for God's blessings of the internet, cell phones, instant messages, email, and my digital camera...and cheap airline tickets. They enabled us to enjoy the amazing process of learning to understand, respect, and find joy within ourselves and with each other!!!! We were married on December 1, 2008 and look forward, be it God's will, to a very long future together with great happiness, faith and love.
I admit it! I am a "porchswing" singer (all you "in my car" singers will relate somewhat) and it appears that I have inspired a wild, but musically inclined Mallard duck - who visits when I practice for Sing Snap. Update: Shock! My duck showed up with a lady duck! Surprise! Jealousy? Elation! - realized I will soon have a larger audience!!!! Further Update: ???...could be a visiting cat? I miss my duck!!!!
Latest Update ... the cat moved away last weekend, the ducks haven't returned...probably flew south....but It's still not too cold to be out singing on that porch swing!!!!!! UPDATE TO THE UPDATES: It's now cold and snowing. No ducks..I heard they flew south for the winter....but a wonderful SSer from the south...who had NEVER flown north or anywhere for that matter...from GA showed up. He doesn't have wings but Delta was ready when he was....and he doesn't quack...but he sings an awesome Elvis, Johnny Cash...etc....so the ducks have competition!!!!! UPDATES TO THE UPDATES...Steve and I are down south looking for the ducks. Hope they are as happy as we are...will return to MI post snow...and the ducks???
I am the mother of three grown children; a daughter in Philly, a son in Washington D.C. and a daughter in MI and have one grandchild who lives a mile down the road. I love them very much!!!!!! ...and I love my twin who is doing very well, now having recovered from her illness. Dad's continues to enjoy life at 95! Thanks to all who joined in the birthday message. I'm a researcher at heart - geneology another hobby. I have had to refrain from live karaoke...another hobby because of health and safety issues!
I'm touched by the support and positive comments received...felt embraced....health benefits?...oh, yes.... I love to dance and can't help myself when I click a song that whirls me to my feet...
Thank you, Steve for allowing me to share your poetry on my profile!!!!!
White Southerner Ashamed
An apology and an epitaph for the Old South
A white southerner by birth I be
Proud of some heritage that I see
But a dark side crawls out causing me grief
An unholy horror, with seldom relief
If I had lived during slavery
With the feelings that be inside
I should have gone north
And fought for the Yankee side
If I had lived during Jim Crow
I should always have caused a row
Against my otherwise white brother
And with the race that he tried to smother
If I'd marched with Dr. King
I should have been pleased to be seen
With hatred by the southern white
For a cause that was good and right.
God help us all in this day and age
To get our name on history's page
With those who would answer the call
And have justice here, for once and for all.

A Morning Drive
to my wonderful and loving daughter
Driving along in the morning dawn
The skies begin to gray
Darker and darker it seems to grow
As you travel on your way.
Shades of night, it seems to be!
As the winds begin to blow
But to you it's only a bleak symphony
As on your way you go.
Lightning flashes, the thunder crashes!
And the heavens are lit all around!
But of all the things for humans to ponder
To you these are only the background.
These ghastly shades seem your brethren and friends!
You bask in these and not the sun's glow
For all these drear and desperate themes
Are matched only by those in your soul.
