Heart Attack is the #1 cause of death in the US and Stroke ranks third. My Dad had a heart attack and passed away in 2002.My mom is still struggling with her speech. She sufferred 3 strokes already.With God's grace she continues to live a normal, healthy life.
HEART ATTACK is when the blood clot in your heart arteries and block the flow of blood to your heart and STROKE is when the blood flow to the brain is blocked ,either in the left or right artery located in the back of your neck.Speech impairment happens when the clot is on the left side.
HIGH CHOLESTEROL puts us on high risk for both.So you'll understand why i was so happy to hear the good results .

After sticking to a daily exercise routine and switching to low cholesterol,low carb diet for the past couple of months my cholesterol went down from 314 to 112 (normal is 125-200) and my Triglycerides from 1400 to 202(Normal is less than 150)..PRAISE THE LORD!!!!.Needless to say the weight i've lost below...it's been a good journey making it this far in such short period of time.

Update:10/2/09-I'm 30 lbs lighter and I'm done..whewwwww!!!

Update:5/23/09 Been exercising for a couple of weeks now. I've lost some weight..2 lbs in the first week..,4 lbs lbs on my 2nd week..(whew,6 lbs total..as heavy as my head,brains included...hahahha..)
5/7/09:Had a couple of chest pains a few weeks back...found out my cholesterol and triglycerides are dangerously high...gotta switch priorities to get these silent killers down and under control..i'd love to be around for a very long time and probably see my 10 grandkids grow up before my eyes...thanks for your well wishes and prayers....keep singing my friends ,you'll never know when i'm listening...God Bless~ Arthur
Starting weight: 182 LBS..currently,152 lbs
Key to my weight loss>>>Keep your rice to about only a third of what you normally eat ,replace that volume with steamed vegetables.You still have to eat lean meat for protein.Minimize Salt and Sugar intake.I find black coffe to be so tasteful. No Soda!!!! Snack on nuts..Almonds,Walnuts are great.
Couple your diet with simple exercises.A walk in the park for 30-45 min each day.Stationary walking or jogging will do if you can't go out.Need to keep your heart rate up depending on your age.Look up YouTube for cardio exercixe routine that might work for you. The 8 minute abs videos work well to flatten your tummy..Belly OUT Abs IN or BELLY in ABS out, yun na yon!!!!!!
One more thing,always keep yourself hydrated.Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
