I love listening to all the Singsnap singers, the voices are just incredibly beautiful. There are alot of talented people out there just waiting to be discovered. I love doing duets. I was born in the mountains in Eastern Kentucky and lived within 6 miles of where Patty Lovelace lived in Elkhorn City, Ky . within 8 miles of where Dwight Yoakam lived in Betsy Layne, Ky. and also Loretta Lynn and Keith Whitley....I love singing any type of music....I have seen the life of poverty and have also seen the struggles and hardships of others....especially coal miners....what a life back then they crawled back in a hole and worked all day digging coal, never knowing if the mountain would collapse on them or if they would ever see their family again..... I lived in Eastern Kentucky all my life, married and moved to Chicago, Ill for 11 years, divorced and moved back to Eastern Kentucky with my 9 year old son...we lived on food stamps and AFDC ...At age 33 I went to college and got a master's degree In Education.....I had endorsement to teach in kindergarten, elementary education grades 1-8, and special education grades 1-12....it was a struggle and poverty while I was in college the four years but I was determined to make a better life for my son and myself....I taught school in eastern Kentucky for 13 years..my field was special education.... I strongly believe in the value of an education..Both my mom and dad's families were teachers....You never stop learning... .In my 13th. year of teaching I became ill with liver problems and had to give up my teaching career and go on disability and wait for a liver...I had cirossis but had never tasted of any alcohol my entire life......that eventually turned to liver cancer .. I had a liver transplant on December 24, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Hospital, thank God I have never had the first problem with the transplant..I promised God that if He would just see me through the operation that I would always have a smile on my face for others and be happy and I have always tried to stick to that promise.... When I remarried we moved to East Tennessee and I have lived here ever since...My husband passed away in 2007 with cancer.... We live in a wonderful Country and we should be proud to be Americans...stand up when you see our flag....thank GOD for all the servicemen and women who have fought to keep our freedom and this GREAT COUNTRY we live in...thank GOD for everything we have, for with him nothing is impossible... NEVER EVER give up....GOD will make a way..Betty Dedication from Hal 11-15-2009...57 Chevrolet Dedication from patsy prince from United Kingdom 11-20-2009 ....Heartbreaker
