My name is Michaela, I am 46 years old, married, one young lurcher called Harry, no children. I love singing and found this gold mine of songs to sing. Great!!!

It gives me a fantastic outlet for my feelings and also hours of distraction from feeling down and/or scared. In 2006 I was diagnosed with retroperitoneal liposarcoma, a very rare cancer, which turned my and my family's lives upside down.

I have had 2 major operations and radiotherapy, lost my left kidney and left colon in the first op and after all this I enjoyed a year in complete remission. In May 2009 a ct scan revealed a third tumour near my right kidney which now appears to be inoperable after I went into kidney failure at the beginning of June and had to have an emergency operation to save my life.

BUT despite all this and the pessimism of my doctors I am determined to beat it again and for good this time!

Singing is a great therapy and it is so nice to have friends here on singsnap, so this is going to help with my recovery.

But please keep your fingers crossed for me :)
