mcjessica's real name is Jessica McFancypants. Jessica is 31 years old, is located in Illinois / USA and has been a SingSnap member since September 11, 2009. So far she has made a total of 68 recordings.

This website is totally awesome... and it has opened a door in my mind. I have always hesitated to sing solo stuff, especially in front of other people, but this is a safe way to do it and doesn't freak me out too much. I am still working on finding my own style and rhythm and voice, but hopefully that will come the more I just put myself out there. Meanwhile, have fun... and enjoy... it's all we can do!

Thanks to all the very supportive people who have befriended me in my short time here so far! New friends are always welcome ... I don't bite unless you ask me to.

When I'm not feeding my new addiction to this website, I also work at a really cool, small history museum... am the mother to a cute and crazy rascal of a little boy... chief cook and back scratcher.... enjoy german board games... reading... writing poetry and music... strive to try new things every day.... oh, and over the summer I learned of my great new love of privy digging -- ahem... outhouse archaeology... okay, see below :)



What the heck is Privy Digging??
Privies are almost like time capsules in disguise. Interesting finds in the past have included glass medicine bottles, dolls, toys, bones, belt buckles, chamber pots, and even fine china! On the surface they are almost undetectable, showing nothing but grass (in this case, an employee parking lot!) and sometimes a slight depression. But just a couple of feet below the surface lie beautiful pieces of glass, china, and other treasures. Before our society had regular trash pickup or recycling, people would throw these things in the outhouse pit. Over time, any compostable or organic material in the pit is completely converted to new “clean” soil and the glass, bone, or metal artifacts remain.
