The picture is of my oldest daughter Tiia, almost 19 and my youngest daughter Tiuku, almost 6. Aren't they adorable?

I really love to sing, in singing I can live in the moment and be one with the songs I sing. I am a working mother with 4 children, I sing here too much and feel a bit guilty about stealing time away from my family on singsnap. It is sometimes hard to balance the need to express oneself by song and the need to be present in everyday life.

Thank you for listening to my songs. I really appreciate your feedback. I constantly try to improve my singing and hope that one day I will have a more multi-faceted tone in my singing.

I like all kinds of music that has a pretty melody, good lyrics and hopefully a message. Here it is possible to try different genres and that is great. People say my voice is best suited to jazzy songs and the standards. I guess I listened to so many of my dad's Sinatra and Shirley Bassey albums as a youngster that that genre sunk in well. I really enjoy singing beautiful tender ballads too. The lovely voices of Streisand, Sarah McLachlan, Amy Lee, Karen Carpenter, Shirley Bassey, Whitney Houston, Linda Ronstadt, Dionne Warwick, Katie Melua, Norah Jones, Anne Murray, Faith Hill, Patsy Cline, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Anita Baker, Randy Crawford, Roberta Flack, Natalie Cole, Etta James...the list will go on forever..these voices mesmerize me.

I listened to a lot of great songs and singers in my youth and it is wonderful to be able to sing those songs here. Many songs are filled with memories of younger years. I have noticed that our "musical memory" is a bit like "scent memory"...this means that a song can take a person instantly somewhere else..like a scent can..weird...the mind moves in mysterious ways.
