Krud's Profile

Krud's real name is Troy B. Troy is 34 years old, is located in USA and has been a SingSnap member since September 30, 2007. So far he has made a total of 556 recordings.

The following info is provided as my ineffectual way of saying "Thanks for stopping by, and sorry my profile isn't cool like other people's."

[My Parodies] [Open Duets] [Favorite Duets] [Favorite Songs]

1. I am on dial-up. Yeah, through the phonelines. You remember landlines, right? Before everyone had cell phones? They hung from poles and stuff. Anyway, if the local phone company ever gets off their butt and adds DSL capability to this area, I'll be able to participate more than I can now. (Ironically, if we moved five miles in any direction*, we could have DSL.) I sometimes get to sneak a listen on the office broadband, but I would be caught dead recording at work. :P

2. I write parodies. Which means that some of the songs of mine that you click may not be the song you anticipated. While I will always make a note of it in the song's comments section, that doesn't really help you beforehand, and for that I apologize. If I could figure out a way to denote which are parodies via some sort of picture code, I would do so. (But I don't have a webcam, due to fact #1, so that's not an option**.) So I guess it'll just have to be a surprise! Will that Kenny Rogers song really be "Coward of the County"? Or is it "Coward of Accounting"? You won't know 'til you click***. Ah, the magic of the internet never ceases.

3. I'm verbose. To a fault, at times. So if you receive a long-winded note from me, I apologize, and assure you that it's nothing personal. (Though if I leave you a short note, that's also nothing personal. Unless I actually say something personal, in which case it is. And this is the sort of rambling I'm talking about, what you see here. If you think this is bad, be lucky you aren't exposed to my blog.)

4. I don't give out all 5's. I'm not sure why this is, because the scoring system seems arbitrary at best, and misapplied at worst. I haven't figured why some people think if you can't give five stars, don't give any stars at all. I mean, I would rather a song had a 3-star rating, than a zero-star rating, wouldn't you? Or is it just me? *shrug* Anyway, if a song blows me away, it gets a five. Though it never tells you who gives fives, so I guess I'll have to just let you know when that's the case, huh?

5. I didn't have a fifth thing to say when I first wrote this, but I've since thought of one. And it's that I am not averse to doing duets, if it's a song I know and can sing. (Or one awesome enough that I'm willing to learn it and try to sing.) The exception would be if I didn't think my voice would lend itself to the song in question. (There are a few things that I simply will not sing. I haven't made a list or anything, but I know they're out there.)

Okay, That's all I have for now. Maybe something will occur to me later. Though if you've actually read through all of this, then you are officially awesome. You should be receiving a certificate to that effect by secret courier any second now. Wait for it...

* - except up or down
** - Actually, this is no longer accurate, as I went ahead and bought a cam for this very purpose. Still can't do video, though. I should rewrite that, huh?
*** - Though in this case, it is "Coward of The County". I haven't written that other one. Yet.
[Update: As of right now, most of my recordings aren't parodies. Just FYI.]
