I am an adopted half Japanese and half Caucasian Canadian girl. Recently, I found information about my biological parents but I have never met them...and probably never will. I am lucky to still have my Dad with me at 97! My Mom passed away when I was only 9 at the age of 53! My file indicates that my biological Dad used to sing and play guitar so I guess that's where I get my love for music from. I sound like a cat with it's tail caught in a door. Because of my soprano voice, I've been told to just "shut up" on occasion, until I came here. I don't feel so shut out anymore. Thank you for giving me the confidence to go on.I'm 55 and have been singing as long as I can remember. I was involved in amateur theatre groups in Montreal for a few years and in school and church choirs. I love to sing the classics like the "Messiah" and I love Broadway music. Music is my passion and it gives me great joy (much to the dismay of some of my friends). I harmonize with the radio, CD's and anyone who plays guitar. I can't stop...so I don't. I'm totally addicted to Karaoke and for Christmas, my husband bought me a "Singing Machine". I haven't used it much since joining SS and SSnap, but it is part of my living room furniture, waiting for when the mood comes over me/us. I have met so many nice people through these Karaoke sites. We all have the passion and we are all on common ground. It bridges the continents, age groups and genders. Thank you for being a part of my new "world". A few of us here have come to a similar conclusion that the rating system is more often than not, dishonest and unnecessary. I, myself, am here for the fun of it only and rarely even remember to rate someone. I hope that you just come by for a sincere visit to hear me sing to you. I do love your feedbacks thouhg. MY DAUGHTER'S WEDDING-AUGUST 23, 2009 Back in November '08, I visited my good friend Sandra (Islandgirl54) in Florida, for the first time and I had such a fabulous 3 days! We sang together and met two other Singsnappers; Bill Perkins (Egidio) and Robin (RobinR1963) too! My memories will last forever. This is just my first visit to Florida...I will go back! In August '08, My husband and I took a trip to Portland, Oregon, to finally meet 4 of my friends here on SS. They all welcomed us with open arms and I am glad to say that I have made friends forever. Here is a short account of that trip! THIS IS "BIG OSC"!
