Grandpajoe's real name is Joe Myers. Joe is 54 years old, is located in California / USA and has been a SingSnap member since October 27, 2008. So far he has made a total of 147 recordings.

I'm just your average Joe. Literally. :-) I retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years and now have another full time gig working for a company that distributes medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. I work on their phones and voicemail mostly but also get to do announcements and greetings in the systems too. That's the fun part. I love to sing with no aspirations of greatness. I have two very talented kids who sing better than me and I'm very proud to be the 3rd best singer in my family. My daughter Michelle has recorded a couple of songs on this account and can also be heard at her own studio (chellesrock). She will tell you that her brother is the best singer but they are more like 1a and 1b. Someday I'll tie him to a mic and make him record something. I am happy they tell everyone they got their talent from me but if they did, it was just a starter kit. :-)

I am a full time worker so please be patient with me doing my listens. I try to do as many as I can but I also have a family to attend to which is the most important thing in my life. I just do the best I can getting around to as many as I can.

Over the time I've been singing here, I have been asked if I have sung professionally (which is a very nice compliment) or if I plan to. It's not a simple answer. Well, no I have not sung professionally although I was in a garage band for a year or so and we did get some small gigs which paid very little. I don't count that. Since I was in the military for so many years, it was very difficult to do anything professional other than the military. I spent 23 years defending my country and I don't regret that. It just didn't give me any time for much else. Now that I'm retired from the military, I have to keep the money coming in and that's what I do. I am 54 years old now and it's just too late for me. So if you younger talents out there ever wonder if you can make it in the business and you truely feel you are good enough, I say go for it. Life just took me down another path like a fast moving train and it was going too fast for me to get off.
