Ginseng's Profile

Ginseng is 34 years old and has been a SingSnap member since March 15, 2009. So far she has made a total of 294 recordings.

My story: I got the name Ginseng from a fellow singer, who was avidly telling his neighbor (who was not a native English speaker), "Man, you should hear Jen sing"... and the neighbor thought he said, "Man, you should hear Ginseng"... and that's how I became Ginseng. Kind of like Madonna, but more organic. ;o) Or how about a female Michael Buble? Yeah, I like that idea...

I'm recording with a basic mic, no effects, just li'l ol' me.

My SS presence:

I do my best to remain sincere in my comments so if I leave you one, you can take it to heart :) I'm an INTJ type so my comments are of the short succinct variety in general. I'm sorry if any of you are offended by my non-gushiness but I do my best to listen and leave a comment or message in response. I really appreciate the warmth and friendliness of the SS community. I really enjoy listening to different voices and suggesting songs that I think showcase the talented voices you all have. Bless you all.

I encourage you all to check out this amazing singsnapper, MichaelWarrilow. He is one of the most talented singers I have come across and really deserves more attention than he gets: http://www.singsnap.com/snap/profile/recordings/a522662

My musical background:

I'm not a professional musician... I don't have a lot of raw natural talent like a lot of folks but I feel though singing is not about talent... it's about expressing yourself... singing is like breathing... pretty hard to live without it! :)

To Linda- thanks for the encouragement! :)

It's crazy I think some people leave comments without listening to someone's song... I try to be sincere and I enjoy reading personal comments from my SS friends. Please don't post self-aggrandizing "click here to Nominate me for HOF" graphics as a comment on my page or pictures with that dancing baby (it creeps me out). I'd be happy to listen to a special song of yours if you send me a message though. :)

Sometimes something magical happens and the music works just right... some of my favorite duets with my fellow Snappers:

Moe & I doing "Falling Slowly"

Boerni & I doing "When the Stars Go Blue"
