benny_flatpicker's real name is Benji Weatherby. Benji is 73 years old, is located in Canada and has been a SingSnap member since July 13, 2008. So far he has made a total of 2 recordings.

I started to play lead guitar when I was 42 yrs. old in a band with 2 of the top singers at the time. One was a female singer by the name of Marlene Beaudry who had the Canadian hit of "Harper Valley PTA" and the other was a male singer named Dick Nolan, the top male country singer in eastern Canada and I had to learn real quick as they were on top of all the latest male, female and duets on the go. I used to do a lot of pickin' on the road 20 years ago and still do a bit now and then. I think opening a SS account just for instrumentals will be great to get some good pratice in and maby get some of my licks back again.
At one time I used to do a one man band thing playing a 36 key bass with my feet, play my own lead and do all the singin' while usuing an aytomatic drummer called Rickey Rimshot. At one point I hired a real good steel player who played a great country and old tyme fiddle which gave us a sound equal to a five piece band but that was long ago and far away. I still like pickin' when I can.
