I am a singer-multi-instrumentalist with influences across multiple genres and interests across multiple technical fields. Vocally a leggiero tenor (with extension up to about C6 in falsetto), I play piano and keyboards, guitar and bass guitar, and drums and percussion. A regular at OMS Japanese Christian Church, Walnut Creek (near San Francisco), CA, USA, I primarily handle backing vocals and either piano or bass guitar depending on availability of other instrumentalists; I also double as sound engineer in the event of personnel shortages.
I joined the Snap on the recommendation of fellow Yahoos who have, as have I, lost a venue to practice singing due to a decision to close down the Karaoke/Lip-sync/Dance Song Library and associated Contests and Entries at Y!® bix® (purchased by Yahoo!, Inc., in 2006; off the World Wide Web 1 July 2009). I intend to continue my training here that I began at bix®.
I am testing an eMachines® EL1210-09 microtower computer (Advance Micro Devices® Athlon LE-1620, nVIDIA® GeForce® 8200), running Microsoft® Windows Vista® Service Pack 2, and Logitech® QuickCam® Communicate Deluxe™ S7500 (P/N 960-000247) , in lieu of the previously-used Everex® Micro-ATX mid-tower re-equipped with a Gigabyte® GA-MA78GM-S2HP system board, 2.9 GHz Advanced Micro Devices® Athlon™ X2 MPU (AMD P/N ADO5600IAA5D0), 2GB DDR2-800 RAM, Creative Laboratories® Sound Blaster® Audigy™ 2 ZS (SB0250; supersedes damaged Realtek® ALC889), and Dynex® DX-WEB1C USB camera. I documented the rebuild of the aforementioned Everex® on a SONY® DCR-DVD610 digital camcorder; the YouTube™ video is now in editing.
(As a brand-new system, the eMachines® will remain in essentially stock form until useful accessories for music creation are identified.)
