I am a child of the 70's. I grew up in a southern California household where a lot of oldies where played.
In the 80's listened mostly to Metal, and Rock grew long hair, and got into skateboarding. Even though my musical taste had changed, I never forgot about the music that accompanied my childhood, and the many family road trips.
Classic Rock, Classic Metal, will always have a special place for me, but now that I'm older I've also learned to appreciate the gift that the pioneers of rock n roll had left for us. People like Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, and Richie Valens, just to name a few. You will find that some of my songs will reflect this appreciation, along with some others.
I'm obviously no pro... I consider myself more of a cover singer... I think that I have a fairly good ear for staying in key, and I always try to stay true to the original artists style.. If I can't come fairly close I won't try sing it.
