Hi, thanks for checking out my songs.

A little about me -

I live in Utah, USA, in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains. My family and I really enjoy all that the great outdoors here has to offer.

I've been married to a wonderful woman for over 17 years now, and together we have 3 rambunctious but loving kids.

I'm a professional writer working in the web industry, as well as authoring corporate and political speeches. My wife and I also run a few side businesses, including outdoor gear retailing and KJ-ing at local events, which keeps us busy.

Music is a very big part of my life... I probably got that from my Mom, who was always playing one record or another while I was growing up. One day it would be all country, with George Jones and Johnny Cash, the next it would be Mario Lanza and Luciano Pavarotti, the next Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald, the next the Everly Brothers, and even some Led Zeppelin and Creedence thrown in for good measure.

My tastes are just as eclectic... I love Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban and Lara Fabian, but I also love Journey, AC/DC, KISS and Motley Crue, and Alabama, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and BOCEPHUS. I guess I can't decide if I'm country or city, lowbrow or highbrow. The truth is probably that I'm all of them, rolled up into one audacious early-middle-aged package.

I really enjoy singing, and have had some experience in front of an audience. Even so, I'm under no illusions about my level of talent... I can be good (when the stars align just right), but I'm not great. I wish I was great, but then again, I wish I was a multimillionaire too...

And 15 years younger with more hair...

And about 30 pounds lighter...

I have a great time looking at and listening to other people's songs, but I won't give out resounding praise for singing unless I really think the singer can wail or is otherwise a great entertainer. In my opinion you do a dis-service to people by praising them more than you really should...

That's how people end up on the 'funny' clips at American Idol.

Still, I have great respect for anyone who's willing to put their songs out for others to hear, ESPECIALLY when they're not so good. It's all about having fun, and I'd rather hang with people who are willing to TRY than those who are afraid.

So, rate my attempts honestly, and I will yours. Most of all, though, KEEP SINGING. It's good for the soul.
