I live in San Diego California, best weather on the planet...I used to have my own band here called Mass-Transit. We had fun and played a lot of very memorable gigs, but it's a lot of work to manage, book and schedule for 5 people, so I am taking a haitus. If you've never played for a live crowd, you haven't experienced true performing. Playing real live music is a whole different ball of wax than karaoke. It's much harder but worth it. It sure beats getting flamed on the message board...the only thing that's worse is.....FEEDBACK!! eeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I am a firm believer in learning a song before I attempt to sing it out of respect for the artist who wrote it/sang it. You can only put your heart into a song if you have some confidence when you sing it. If you don't know the song at all, (and believe me, we can tell) no timing, no knowledge of where to stop and start etc. then you can't possibly have that confidence, so your heart really isn't there..... is it......??
