a friend of mine told me about SS. i listened to a few of his recordings and though "WOW"... couldn't even believe this was my Bud! he sounded so incredible. i would never have thought he could sing so good.

i love to sing, but very few people would know that except for those of you here on SS. my family, my kids. a few friends. i picked up a cheap microphone, and tried a song. i was so disappointed and though to my self, you suck!!! only love could explain why i had always been told i could sing.

a few weeks passed, and my friend asked, "when you going to sing?". he's an awesome friend, and gave me some tips, and direction on improving my audio sound. it did help, but listening to myself was like watching an animal being tortured. painful. how could i be this bad? hard to be objective when you look at yourself.

i made another recording, but still i found it totally not what i thought i sounded like. told my daughter "i'm not going to sing here anymore." she said, "lets go to the music store where you bought the boy's guitar". so for my birthday, my kids bought me a new microphone and a mixer. (which i wanted for a duet i wanted so much to sing)

i enjoy singing so much. actually, i think i need to sing. i'm not sure i understand that, but i'm trying. it's unnatural for me not to sing. i'm a total closet singer and i'm happy that way. it's so fun having all this great music to pick from. all of this, and the best part is actually all of you! listening to you all. so many talented people here, and i'm so luckey to be a part of this. thank you for sharing your voices with me, and thank you for the kind comments.

for anyone who may feel some of my audio pain... i use an Alesis MultiMix8USB with an MXL V69 Mogami Edition microphone. this is not a recommendation. it's at least a starting point for those of you who may just need to know what others here on SS might be using.
