Figured it was 'bout time to add a little bit about myself and, to begin, my name is Amber. I was born in the Ozarks of Missouri and later spent the majority of my childhood just north of Kansas City, Missouri. About 4 years ago, my husband and I moved north to the beautiful state of Michigan. Michigan is where my husband was born and raised...so, it was "going home" for him and "leaving home" for me.
I'm sure everyone is feelin' the negative effects of the economy right now, but Michigan really shows it. It isn't easy to live comfortably up here, like it was back in K.C. . Still, the perks make it all worth it. Beautiful, crystal clear water....mild summers without the suffocating humidity like MO has...no ticks!!! :) ...and less ice and more snow than MO gets. I guess it's the classic case of "win some, lose some".
As far as singing goes, I learned early that I was a gifted singer. My childhood dream, like many children have, was to grow up and become a famous singer. :) Funny thing is, that dream didn't fade away with my childhood...and a part of me still holds on to it, even though I'm raisin' babies and pursuing a college degree in Web Development. I've made some attempts to do something with my voice, but never put in the effort to follow them through. I cut a demo when I was 15...it collected dust on the shelf. About a year ago, I got up the nerve to audition for a country band in my area. It came down to myself and one other woman. Turns out my country music repertoire wasn't as great as hers, so she got to sing with the band. At least they picked a fellow redhead. ;)
So, this brings me here, to this computer desk I'm sitting at and this karaoke website that I've been singing on. SingSnap is a wonderful outlet for my need to sing. If I wasn't singin' on SingSnap, I'd be singin' to the walls...so might as well share my voice, huh? :)
