Absolute true story.

Last night I went to a halloween fancy dress party.

My mate was dressed as the grim reaper. His wife works in an old folks home and we got to joking about whether they are having a party there and how his costume would go down.

Bit dark as you can imagine; I suggested turning up carrying a few hourglasses with residents names on them, or bringing a book of raffle tickets...

I am quoted as suggesting showing some poor old dear HER hourglass and saying "DORIS SMITH, YOUR TIME HAS COME". I had made the name up.

My mate's wife turned around and said "Oh that's spooky - we HAVE a Doris Smith at the home".

But that's not all. This morning I received a call from my mate to say that poor Doris Smith had just passed away.

Yikes dude. Creepy, and a major party foul. ;o)

You should have said a name of someone who had already passed on.

Like say Elvis, I haven't seen him lately.

Maybe it was just a subconscious premonition?

Soulrebel1 when in doubt, mumble.

Hmm, Doris Smith is quite a common name though here in the UK, especially amongst older folk, an unhappy coincidence or spooky? Probably both.

Spooky...almost too coincidental if you ask me.. but Yes very common name ....we used to have a Doris Smith where I work.

Maybe you should try and get in touch with Doris Stokes instead :)

Funny you should mention that. I stubbed my little toe on the edge of my living room door this morning and shouted out that exact same thing...
